The opening duo forged a formidable partnership of 90 runs before they were dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. Rohit contributed 37 runs from 25 deliveries, while Ishan displayed his power-hitting skills with a blistering 59 off just 39 balls. Subsequently, Yash Thakur removed Suryakumar Yadav for a mere 7 runs off 9 deliveries.

In the earlier stages of the match, Jason Behrendorff provided Mumbai Indians with an excellent start after choosing to bowl, but Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya helped Lucknow Super Giants regain control. Stoinis remained unbeaten on a remarkable 89 off 47 balls, allowing Lucknow to accumulate a challenging total of 177/3 in their allotted 20 overs. Notably, he formed a vital partnership of 82 runs with Pandya for the fourth wicket, rescuing LSG from a precarious position of 35/3 in 6.1 overs. Unfortunately, Pandya had to retire hurt when he reached 49 runs from 42 deliveries.
