Mario Balotelli reportedly rejected by Kerala Blasters for his controversial past

Balotelli is currently on his second stint with Turkish SuperLig side Adena Demispor. The striker who has 46 caps for Italy, is now out in the market as a free agent.

Football fans in India could have had an opportunity to witness Italy's former World Cup winner Mario Balotelli playing despite the fact that he is 34 now.

The news came up as Balotelli was primarily offered by ISL team Kerala Blasters to don their shirts in the upcoming ISL.

But according to Times of India the Kerala side has withdrawn its decision to sign the former Manchester City, Liverpool, and AC Milan striker due to his controversial past during his career.

Balotelli is currently on his second stint with Turkish SuperLig side Adena Demispor. The striker who has 46 caps for Italy, is now out in the market as a free agent.

Blasters also evaluated the player’s past controversies on and off the pitch which further drifted them away from the deal.

Balotelli’s latest controversy was a few months ago when he notoriously lit up the Adana Demirspor dressing room by casually throwing a firecracker towards his team-mates.

He also is said to have had a history with firecrackers, with a friend of the Italian striker said to have lit firecrackers inside his £ 3 million rented Cheshire mansion.

Balotelli escaped unhurt after fleeing the fire at 1 am. Just 36 hours later, Balotelli scored against rivals Manchester United before unveiling his infamous ‘Why always me?’ t-shirt.
