Massive crowd at RFDL National Group stage. AKT wins comfortably.

In the RFDL National Group stage match Classic FA and North East United FC match ended in a draw while ATK Mohun Bagan won comfortably.

ATK Mohun Bagan today faced Shillong Lajong FC at the SAI Complex, Imphal to play the National Group match of the Reliance Foundation Development League. Around thousands of people turned up to witness the match and give encouragement to the players. 
Mariners dominated the entire proceedings over Lajong.  Their U-23 star Nongdamba Naorem produced some excellent footwork.  ATK forward Loitongbam Taison Singh banged the first goal within three minutes from the kick-off. Nongdamba Naorem netted in the 19th minute and increased the margin in the 21st minute. Lajong could not put any pressure on the ATK defence. They could not find their feet back in the proceedings. In the 59th minute, Loitongbam scored for the second time giving ATK  a comfortable 4 – 0 victory. 
Earlier in the same venue Classic FA and North East United FC were locked in a 2 – 2 deadlock when the match ended in a thriller. The Highlanders took the first lead in the 44th minute. Alfred Lalruotsang drew the first blood. North East maintained their supremacy over the game.  Substitute Nelson Rymbai scored in the 86th minute. When the match was looking to end in North East’s favour the scenario changed. In the extended injury time, Classic FA scored in the 92nd and 99th minutes. Serto Worneilen Kom scored both goals.
