Mohun Bagan started their campaign with a draw in opening CFL Premiere division championship and they were forced by Bhawanipore to content with a 1-1 draw at Barrackpore stadium.  Shibajit singh gave lead to Green and Maroon brigade early in the match, But they failed to hold that advantage. 

Before the end of the first half Jiten Murmu equalized for Bhawanipore and rescued them. After start of the second half both teams got chances, but could not convert into a positive one. Goalkeepers of both teams played anchored roles in making some crucial saves. Shafikul Islam of Bhawanipore was admitted to hospital following a collision with Tyson singh in first half.
