Mbappe under fire; French football fraternity holds his ‘deplorable lifestyle’ responsible for the atrophy

Daniel Riolo, a French journalist for RMC, known for his criticism of the French football scene is harshly critical of his captain.

It is probably the time to watch a superstar’s slump from the orbit where he was being compared with Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo only a couple of years ago.

Yes, Kylian Mbappe is in the storm after his France was eliminated from the semi-final of the ongoing Euro Cup. Mbappe’s performance in the competition was mediocre and the football fraternity in France has held Mbappe’s shocking lifestyle responsible for one of the worst performances in the Euro Cup in recent times.

Even, allegations from French media have come up that Kylian Mbappe has lost focus on football. The allegations are being made that he did not train seriously before the competition!

Daniel Riolo, a French journalist for RMC, known for his criticism of the French football scene is harshly critical of his captain. “Mbappe has always surprised me, but that player no longer exists. Mbappe has completely gone off the rails, he has led a deplorable lifestyle, he no longer focuses on football, he has dispensed with training,” commented Riolo.

The striker will begin his new stage at Madrid next week and Riolo believes that playing for the white club could help him to revive his form. Riolo added, “He is lucky to go to Real Madrid, and maybe it is the right path that will save him, but at 25 years old, the other path is that of Neymar and Verratti, which means that you no longer train properly, you no longer have your explosiveness and you are no longer worth much.”

Riolo also had some bad words for Deschamps. A few days ago he told the French coach: “Go and play paddle in Monaco or move on.” According to the veteran journalist, Deschamps does not want Zidane to take over the French national team because he knows that everyone wants that.

Veteran journalists apart, former France international footballers like Emmanuel Petit were also vocal against Mbappe. "For me he is not a good captain. I feel he was somehow forced to take captaincy,” opined Petit.

Now after the disaster in Germany, Mbappe’s challenge of revival with Madrid begins. He must be trying to forget his horrible summer in Germany.
