MBSG Appeal to AIFF After EB Move to Delhi High Court

Last Tuesday, the federation announced that Anwar Ali, would face a four-month suspension. Additionally, both East Bengal and Delhi FC are barred from signing new players for the next two registration periods.

Mohun Bagan has filed an official appeal to the All India Football Federation and AFC raising its voice against East Bengal's decision to move its case to the Delhi High Court on Thursday.

East Bengal had filed a case in the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on Anwar Ali's deportation, with Delhi FC and Anwar himself also part of the petition. In response, Mohun Bagan (MBSG) has written a letter to the All India Football Federation and AFC calling for severe punishment for East Bengal, Anwar Ali and Delhi FC.

The MBSG argued that the process the petitioners chose was illegal as without informing the Federation's Appeals Committee and CAS, approaching the Court directly is a violation of protocol as well as the Federation’s rules.

Last Tuesday, the federation announced that Anwar Ali, a Delhi FC player, would face a four-month suspension for breaching his contract with Mohun Bagan, with East Bengal fined ₹12.9 crores. Additionally, both East Bengal and Delhi FC are barred from signing new players for the next two registration periods due to their involvement.
