The Indian Super League 2024-25 season kicked off with a thrilling 2-2 draw between Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) at the iconic Salt Lake Stadium on Friday.

MBSG took an early lead in the 9th minute, as Mumbai City defender Tiri scored a same side goal. Despite this setback, the match saw intense action, with Jayesh Rane receiving the first yellow card of the game.

MBSG extended their lead in the 28th minute through a clinical finish by Alberto Rodríguez. However, Mumbai City FC responded with renewed energy in the second half. Vishal Kaith, the MBSG goalkeeper, was shown a yellow card in the 54th minute, and Tiri redeemed himself by scoring for Mumbai City in the 70th minute.

In the final moments of the game, Thaer Krouma found the back of the net in the 90th minute, securing a dramatic equalizer for Mumbai City FC. The season opener ended in an exciting draw, setting the tone for a competitive league ahead.
