MBSG to extend contract with Petratos

The 31-year-old striker is in excellent form in the ongoing season for MBSG, scoring five goals in 11 matches in the ongoing ISL

Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG) has reportedly decided to extend the contract with its prolific Australian striker Dimitri Petratos for one more season.

It is believed that the initiative was taken especially after Dimitri’s excellent goal against FC Goa that helped the team to earn full points in their last away match.

The 31-year-old striker is in excellent form in the ongoing season for MBSG, scoring five goals in 11 matches in the ongoing ISL and already struck three goals in four matches in the AFC Cup.

However, MBSG team management is extremely impressed by the emergence of Dipendu Biswas, the new Bengali striker who dished out a consistent performance in the team's previous match against FC Goa.

Dimitri was also happy to have watched the exuberance of Dipendu, playing alongside him. The Australian striker stated, "He is a young boy. FC Goa match was his second game in the ISL. I am impressed to have noticed his enthusiasm on the pitch, especially his ability to send correct passes and tenacity to challenge opposition footballers." Dipendu’s passing accuracy in the team's last match as 73 percent.

However, East Bengal on the other hand has registered another foreign player for their forthcoming engagement in the AFC Cup.
