MDSP likely to request state government install ‘bucket’ seats at Kishore Bharati Stadium

They have signed Zoherliana from Aizawl FC and Rochharzela from North East United FC.

Mohammedan Sporting Club is planning to request the state government to come forward with financial assistance for the installation of ‘bucket’ seats at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.

The new entrant in the ISL next season is likely to set Kishore Bharati Stadium as the venue for their home matches in the ISL.

The club while filling up the licensing form has mentioned Salt Lake Stadium as the venue of their home matches in the ISL. But that is unlikely to be granted.

In that case, following Plan-B, Mohammedan Sporting top brass feels Kishore Bharati Stadium could be the venue for their home matches. But it needs bucket seats at the gallery.

Otherwise, Kishore Bharati Stadium will also not be approved as the team’s home matches’ venue and a lot of money, approximately lakhs of rupees is required for the installation of bucket seats at the stadium.

Club secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed opined on the issue, “We are unlikely to get Salt Lake Stadium as our home match venue due to maintenance problems as it already has been allotted to MBSG and East Bengal. Kishore Bharati Stadium could be our home-match venue but it needs to have bucket seats which need lakhs of rupees for the installation."

He continued, "So we are planning to request the state government to come forward with financial assistance for the installation of bucket seats at Kishore Bharati Stadium. We hope the state government will come forward finally."

However, Eddie Hernandez's future with the black-and-white jersey in the ISL might be uncertain. The Honduran striker played a significant role in helping Mohammedan Sporting to clinch the maiden I-league title, scoring 13 goals in the League. The club’s top brass has reportedly planned to retain Argentine striker Alexis Gomez and Russian wing-half Evgeniy Kozlov.

The club which has already around 10 contracted footballers has already begun the team-building. They have signed Zoherliana from Aizawl FC and Rochharzela from North East United FC.
