MDSP says yes to the investors' ‘term-sheet’ and comes out of the cloud to play ISL

According to the term-sheet, the board will have six members, two each from the club, Bunkerhill and Shrachi Sports.

Mohammedan Sporting Club officials are reportedly shifting from their stands and approving the ‘term-sheet’ they signed after agreeing with their investor Bunkerhill Sports and sponsor Shrachi Sports.

According to the term-sheet, the board will have six members, two each from the club, Bunkerhill and Shrachi Sports. According to the term-sheet, the chairman also should be someone from the investors.

The club officials stuck to their demand that the board should have five club members and the chairman should also be from the club. A senior official reportedly explained that as the club will have the majority of the stakes even after the distribution of stakes between Bunkerhill and Shrachi Sports, the chairman should be from the club.

Bunkerhill director Deepak Singh opined, "We will invest and they will have the chairman? and seven members in the board? It cannot be possible."

The club however has to deposit Rs 6 crore to the FSDL, organizer of the ISL within the next 48 hours. That might have been the major cause for Mohammedan Sporting officials might change their stand and agree with the 'term-sheet'.

However, it is learnt that following the discussion held at the club premises on Tuesday, unanimous decision was taken that the Board of Directors will have seven members instead of the six. Three members will be from the club while two each from Bunkerhill and Shrachi Sports. Rahul Todi, Director, Shrachi Sports will be the head of the Board of Directors.

Significantly, club secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed stated, “We have found a solution. I hope our participation in the ISL will have no doubt.”
