Mehrajuddin had plans to resume training from 2nd April. He also had plans to play a couple of preparatory matches with local teams before leaving for Odisha to play in the Super Cup.
Mehrajuddin Wadoo is probably going through the toughest phase of his coaching career. With 17 days left for the commencement of Super Cup, Mohammedan Sporting coach does not have any clue yet about when he will be able to start preparation for the tournament.
The club secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed asserted while speaking on Thursday night, “The transfer of shares to Bunkerhill Sports and Shrachi Sports is in the final phase. So, we are expecting that all financial matters will be sorted out within next three-four days and the team will resume training for the Super Cup.”
Shrachi Sports had intimated on Wednesday through a letter to the FSDL and Bunkerhill Sports that it has decided to disassociate with Mohammedan Sporting due to a delay in transfers of shares.
The footballers and coaching staff are not getting their salaries for last couple of months. Around eight footballers, having two-year contract and taking part in the ISL regularly have informed officially that they are not keen to continue with the team. Even, a few of the vendors who worked with the team in the ISL have not yet received their dues.
The clubs top brass, after a meeting on Thursday has already decided to discuss with the respective footballers and request them to continue.
Mehrajuddin had plans to resume training from 2nd April. He also had plans to play a couple of preparatory matches with local teams before leaving for Odisha to play in the Super Cup. But now, he is completely in dark about the preparation of the team. He is now waiting for the resolution. He does not know whether he will get at least a couple of days for the training.
Still, the coach under whose guidance the team reached the door of the I-League title and earned qualification for the ISL has accepted the challenge.
Probably, the ISL history’s also witnessing the first ISL which looks so incoherent whereas other participants like NorthEast United FC, and Channaiyin FC will participate in the Super Cup with full preparation.
