Mehraj revealed, “FC Chitwan has built up a formidable side including a foreigner named Ivan Gonsales who has experience of taking part in the ISL here. Other teams also have built up strong teams, recruiting quality foreigners (five foreigners can be registered there in the League). I will begin the training from 1st November.”

Mehrajuddin was removed from the coach's post at Mohammedan Sporting without any prior information despite having helped the team win eight matches out of the 10 in the CFL Premier Division and Durand Cup.

Before the Black-and-White brigade's campaign in the I-League this season on Sunday evening against Aizawl FC, Mehrajuddin wished for their success in the League and opined, "The boys whom I looked after are extremely talented. I believe they have the potential to win the League this season. It will finally depend on the style and combination in which the boys will be asked to play."
