Mehuli shines with the team, India aquire five medals on Sunday

Rowing team also earned the coveted silver

India started the Asian Games amidst thunderous applause from fans the shooting and the rowing contingents acquired a praiseworthy five medals within the first five hours of the action on Sunday. 

The women's shooting team consisted of Ramita Jindal, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey who opened the stage with a dazzling silver medal in 10m Air Rifle event. 

And a couple minutes later, the Indian rowing team, comprising Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind clinched the second spot in the extremely competitive men's lightweight Double Sculls event.

However the rowing team was not done yet, hence Hangzhou bore witness to a spectacular display of talent and teamwork. Babu Lal Yadav and Lekh Ram took the bronze medal in the men's pair event, while in the men's eight event, Neeraj, Naresh Kalwaniya, Neetish Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar, Ashish, and Uttam Pande together acquired the silver. Ramita wrapped up India's medal events on the opening day by shooting a 10.4 in the women's 10m air rifle final.
