In an exclusive interview with the Spanish newspaper The Sport, Leo Messi revealed that he wants his farewell from the game from Barcelona and for that special reason he is keen to return to his cradle. Additionally, Messi also divulged that after his retirement he wants to be close to Barcelona and wishes to work in the club's administration. 

He stated, "Yes, obviously yes. I would always like to be close to the club. What is more, I am going to live in Barcelona. That is one of the things we are very clear about with my wife and my children. I do not know at what point, what, or when, but hopefully I can return one day to contribute something and help because it is a club that I love. I had the affection of the people throughout my career and I would like to be there again."

The Argentine legend added, "And a bit yes, a bit yes, a bit because I did not say goodbye to the people as I would have liked and as I think I deserved. I would have liked to go that way. On the other hand, there was also an ugly buzz left and surrounding it as if I had been the bad guy in the movie and I did not like that very much either because it had not been like that. That is why I would like, at some point, to have a real farewell with the people who we lived through so much, who we enjoyed so much, and who we also suffered. But they were many years together. And I would like to say goodbye as I feel."

Commenting on the last-minute change in his decision to join Inter Miami, the World Cup winner tried to clear the confusion. He described several reports on his signing as untrue, published in a major section of the media. He explained, "I said before, so many things came out, so many things leaked, so many lies. Still, I cannot go out and deny everything that is said either. I have noticed that many journalists tell many lies and are photographed and nothing happens." 

Citing an example Messi informed, a section of media published news that his father and agent Jorge had a discussion with the Barca president and La Liga head. But according to Messi that was not true. 

He pointed out that he had decided to join Inter Miami after thinking about so many aspects, not only the money.
