Mohammed Shami rescues car accident victim near Nainital

Shami is currently on a hiatus from international cricket following the World Cup.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, who was the leading wicket taker at the recently concluded ODI World Cup, was involved in the act of rescuing a car accident victim near the town of Nainital in Uttarakhand.

Shami, who is currently on a hiatus from international cricket following the World Cup, shared a video on his Instagram captioned, “He’s so lucky god gave him 2nd life. His car fell down from the hill road near Nanital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely.” The video showed the Indian quick and his entourage at the sight of wreckage.

Shami was one of the stars of India’s ODI World Cup campaign that ended with a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the final. The veteran pacer nabbed a whooping 24 wickets from seven outings and averaged a spectacular 10.71.

Ironically, Shami was not a part of India’s playing XI in the initial league stage games against Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It was only after all-rounder Hardik Pandya picked up an injury that the 33-year-old was brought into fray and he was on the target from the word go.
