Mohammedan SC returns to winning ways in I-League

Eddie Hernandez scored a hat-trick in the huge 5-1 win over Rajasthan United.

After starting 2024 with a defeat and a goalless draw, the Black Panthers finally got back on track in the I-League in style at Naihati. They extended an eight-point lead at the top with the ninth victory of the season. Unfortunately, fans did not viewed their team's win as the game played behind close door for violence in he last hoime match  


Andrey Chernysov's side pressed Rajasthan United from the start and got their result of it in the 20th minute. Lalremsanga broke the deadlock before second Eddie Hernandez doubled the lead five minutes later.


While the Deccan Warriors pulled a goal back with a brilliant strike from William, Mohammedan did not allow more lapses in the game again. Hernandez's restored the two-goal advantage before half-time.


David Lalhlangsanga had his impact on the game winning a penalty in the second half, converted by Kasimov. His strike partner then rounded off the victory in the dying minutes by completing his hat-trick.
