Mohammedan Sporting closer to the ‘Super Six’

The other CFL match on the day between Bhawanipore and Police was abandoned due to rain.

Mohammedan Sporting advanced closer to the 'Super Six' stage of the ongoing CFL Premier Division. The team humbled weak Tollygunge Agragami 4-0 in their CFL match at Naihati Stadium on Wednesday. 

Abhijit Sarkar who was one of the members of the under-17 national team for the Under-17 World Cup six years ago scored a brace while Abhishek Halder and Ganesh Besra scored one each for the winners. Tollygunge Agragami which is struggling to go out of the relegation is stuck at eight points from 10 matches. 

Saheed Raman the former assistant coach of the black-and-white brigade and working as the coach from Wednesday since Mehrajuddin's termination from coach's post, expressed satisfaction saying, "The boys combined well and that was reflected in our score-line. We have to maintain our winning streak in the remaining four matches and finish as the group league topper.”
