Nobody from the Mohun Bagan Club attended the scheduled ‘managers’ meeting’ on Thursday at the IFA office for the forthcoming derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan on 13th July at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 6 pm. Match-commissioner Arindam Bhattacharya and Referee Assessor Subrata Das waited for the Mohun Bagan Club representative for 55 minutes. But none from the club was present. The Match-commissioner and Referee Assessor talked to East Bengal manager Aritra Dutta before leaving the IFA office.
The IFA secretary, Anirban Dutta, commenting on Bagan official’s absence in the meeting, stated “We are not aware of the reason behind their absence in today’s meeting. I do not feel there is any conflict between Mohun Bagan and the IFA. But the match will be held as usual.”
