Mohun Bagan forced to split points against Calcutta Police

Mohun Bagan is languishing at the seventh spot with six points from five matches so far while Calcutta Police is in the third position so far in Group-B with 13 points from six matches.

Mohun Bagan, after winning against Peerless SC in their previous match again were forced to split points with spirited Calcutta Police in their fifth match of the ongoing CFL Premier Division at Kalyani Stadium on Tuesday.

Suhail Bhat gave Bagan the lead in the 39th minute through a decent header off a Fardin Ali Mollah flag-kick. But in the second half, Calcutta Police earned the equalizer through a brilliant 20-yard right-footer by Rabi Das. 

Mohun Bagan is languishing at the seventh spot with six points from five matches so far while Calcutta Police is in the third position so far in Group-B with 13 points from six matches. Police had to play with 10 men for the last 10 minutes after one of their footballers was sent off on the second yellow card. 

Mohun Bagan coach Degi Cardozo however expressed wrath stating that he was getting frustrated with the footballers’ lack of motivation to deliver their best. The supporters also slammed their coach with 'Go back' chants and demanded that Bastob Roy take over the charge.
