CFL Premier Division has already geared up thanks to hundreds of Mohun Bagan members and supporters' jubilation at the stadium after the team's triumph in every match. Even a group of supporters who run a musical band, are seen singing as a reflection of their celebration.
Mohun Bagan secretary Debashish Dutta who went to witness the match on the day sounded extremely satisfied. He said, "I can say a lot of youngsters from this team will graduate to the senior team in the future. They are high potential. More importantly, I welcome the decision of organizing CFL without foreign footballers' presence. The experiment which is now being made by both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal by fielding the talented footballers of Kolkata and India should have been started long back. But the pressure of winning titles is always there for the teams like us. Bengal will get supply-line and will revive past glory by winning Santosh Trophy again."
However, in the CFL Premier Division matches on the day, Army Red forced Diamond Harbor FC to split points with a 1-1 draw at Bidhannagar Municipality ground, Peerless and Kalighat MS also shared points through a 1-1 draw and Southern Samity also earned a point playing out 1-1 draw against Dalhousie AC.
