Mohun Bagan's Winning Rope Held by Resilient Chennaiyin FC

Mohun Bagan is still leading the league table with 37 points.

Mohun Bagan’s winning streak in the ISL was halted by a draw against Jamshedpur FC. In their next away game, they managed only a point against Chennaiyin FC with their goalless draw. Though still atop the points table, the pressure on the Mariners side has intensified.

Chennaiyin FC's strong form made the match tough for Mohun Bagan, further complicated by the presence of former players like Kiyan Nassiri and Pritam Kotal. Though Mohun Bagan is regarded as the strongest ISL team, they are facing a significant problem under coach José Molina, with intense competition for starting spots, especially in attack. However, as in the previous two games, they failed to convert chances, and the result against Chennaiyin fell short of expectations.

In the dying moments of the game, Mohun Bagan narrowly avoided disaster when Ryan Edwards created a clear chance for Chennaiyin. With seven minutes of added time and multiple substitutions, Molina’s side came under significant pressure as Chennaiyin’s counterattacks kept their defence on edge.
