Naval said if Navdeep was an able-bodied player he could have achieved remarkable feats.
The Paralympics concluded on a controversial note. After Sadegh Beit Sayah, the initial gold medalist was disqualified. India's Navdeep Singh, originally the silver medalist, was elevated to gold. Navdeep, not knowing the reason for this decision, became emotional and was seen hugging the Iranian athlete, to console him. The situation appeared as Sayah displayed a controversial flag.
Meanwhile, Navdeep’s coach Naval Singh, having unwavering belief in the 23-year-old athlete, said his technique is better than the star javelin player Neeraj Chopra. If Navdeep was an able-bodied player he could have achieved remarkable feats.
In an interview with Times of India Naval stated - "I knew Navdeep was going to make me and India proud. He has done a lot of hard work. Navdeep ki technique Neeraj Chopra se bhi behtar hai (Navdeep's technique is even better than Neeraj Chopra's). If he were in able-bodied athletics, he would have done wonders. But we are all proud of Navdeep. This is just the start for him-he is going to break several records".
