Nepal Create History with First-Ever Triumph in an International Tournament

With the win, Nepal progresses to the next stage, marking a historic moment in their cricketing journey. Pakistan, after their defeat in the opening match against India, will play for fifth place on Wednesday.

Nepal created history on Monday by securing their first-ever international victory in women’s cricket, beating Pakistan by six wickets at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur to qualify for the Super-Four stage of the ACC U19 Women’s Asia Cup.

Chasing a modest target of 105, Nepal’s Puja Mahato played a captain’s role, remaining unbeaten on a run-a-ball 47, including three boundaries, to guide her team home with an over to spare.

Earlier, Pakistan, opting to bat first, posted 104/5 in 20 overs. Komal Khan top-scored with 38 off 43 balls, while Maham Anees contributed an unbeaten 29 off 38 balls. For Nepal, Mahato made key contributions, taking 2/27.
