Neymar offered to FC Barcelona after Lionel Messi's departure for Inter Miami: Reports

Messi explained that the transfer is not yet 100% done and there are still some things "missing".

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar would be delighted to go back to FC Barcelona after they lost the race to sign former player Lionel Messi, according to Sport newspaper.

Amidst interest in the Argentine from the Catalans, other European clubs, and Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Messi has and its rival Mundo Deportivo that he will join Inter Miami.

Messi explained that the transfer is not yet 100% done and there are still some things "missing", but he should have everything wrapped up to officially sign for the MLS club when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires on June 30.

Also at the Parc des Princes, world record signing Neymar - who the Qatari giants bought for €222 million ($237.5 million) when activating his Barca release clause in 2017 - could be sold this summer.

Sport reports that the Brazilian "would be willing to make an effort to return" to the club he joined in 2013 from boyhood club Santos, and the Blaugrana is in need of attackers to provide competition for the likes of Ousmane Dembele and national teammate Raphinha.

Current Barca coach Xavi Hernandez knows Neymar well from his playing days and sealed the club's last treble alongside him in 2015 before heading to Qatar in semi-retirement. His La Liga-winning squad badly needs a defensive midfielder, but also a natural goalscorer and a wideman which is where Neymar could come in.
