Previously in the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago Nishad won the same medal in the same event. At the Tokyo Paralympics he had conquered the height of 2.06m, and scripted an Asian Record. For Paris Paralympics his silver was secured by the 2.04m jump.
Life indeed is nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. The moment all the hopes are gone, the one that stays stiff with the goal wins the race. This is further proved by another paralympic star Nishad Kumar.
Nishad once a young boy from Una, Himachal Pradesh with burning passion for the sports lost his biggest asset in an accident involving a grass cutting machine when he was only six years old. however , this incident rather than being a stopping point became his initiation of upward slope. Nishad’s unwavering committement for sport did not stop there, rather he inspired but his mother who was state level volleyball player alsp a discus thrower, completely took to sports.
Starting with different sports like wrestling, javelin throw he discovered his passion for the high jump. Nishad’s debut in professional coaching happened in 2017, made his debut for the Asian Youth Para Games, in the same year securing a Gold for India.
Nishad Kumar now has become the latest sensation for his outstanding silver win for India in the men’s high jump T-47 event in Paris Paralympics, on Sunday, securing the seventh medal for India.

Nishad was competing in Paris Paralympics alongside with his Tokyo Olympic finalist Ram Pal however, unfortunately he finished in seventh in Paris.
Both finals had two Indians making the cut, with Ram Pal competing alongside Nishad in Tokyo as well as in Paris. While he had finished fifth with a leap of 1.94m three years ago, he slipped a couple of places of seventh in Paris on Sunday despite a personal best effort of 1.95m.
