No Indian cricketer made it to the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year! The squad was announced on Friday.

India had a quiet year in ODIs, playing only three matches. They lost two games against Sri Lanka, while the third ended in a tie.

The ICC team featured four Sri Lankan players. Three each from Pakistan and Afghanistan were included. West Indies’ Sherfane Rutherford was the only non-Asian player in the XI.

Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka was named skipper of the side. He scored 605 runs in 16 matches at an average of 50.2.

Sri Lanka played 18 ODIs in 2024, winning 12. Afghanistan won eight of their 14 matches, while Pakistan claimed seven wins in nine games.

Rutherford stood out with 425 runs in nine games at an average of 106.2. He made his debut in 2023 and continued his remarkable form.
