But the footballers, before the hurdles they face on the field, have already been going through a severe crisis, created due to extreme level of mismanagement.
More than 250 participants including the boys and girls have been allotted the floors of a school building where only six toilets are available for the use!
North 24 Parganas secretary Nabab Bhattacharya, when asked about the crisis, clarified, "The boys are being provided two meals a day! For their lunch, they were offered rice, soup (dal), and spinach! Isn't it horrible? How can the boys play on Wednesday morning? I do not know whether they will have a proper sleep at night before the match. How can there be the availability of only six toilets for 250 players?"
However, the chairman of the State Games Swarup Biswas, denying the mismanagement, replied when asked about the issue, “No such mismanagement and no carelessness are there. All the participants are lying on the floor. They have also been offered the proper meals. Only, the hockey teams had to face some difficulties as they were delayed in reaching Maldaha. Otherwise, the allegations which are being spread are false and being spread by some people.”
