NorthEast United beat Jamshedpur FC 2-1 in the ongoing ISL match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday.

In the first half of the game, Jamshedpur FC took the lead. Daniel Chima took the penalty and Mirshad Koottappunna saved it in the first attempt, but Daniel made no mistake to give his team the all important lead in the second one. Northeast kept the pressure on from the first whistle but the visitors defensive capabilities stood strong and they maintained a well defined shape to keep the slender lead.

In the second half of the game NEUFC took charge of the possession again as they hunted for the equaliser. Finally after the regulation time, the highlanders proved their prowess and got their much-anticipated equaliser as Miguel Zabaco found the back of the net. Then Northeast FC swiped all the points as Ibson Melo  scored the brilliant winning goal from a spot-kick opportunity. 

Miguel Zabaco deservingly took the player of the match award as he made crucial interceptions and tackles and was also splendid with his attacks. 

John Abraham was excited and elated following the win of his co-owned side NorthEast United. The actor said that this win is the beginning of NEUFC's revival.
