The Odisha government has decided to sponsor both Men and Women’s Indian Hockey teams ( senior and junior )  for another ten years from 2023 to 2033. The decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Naveen Patnaik.
Chief Secretary Mr. P. K. Jena said after the meeting as Odisha has been the official sponsorer of the Men’s and Women’s National Hockey teams since 2018 this support will be a significant step towards the growth and development of Hockey in India.
Earlier Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) entered into an agreement to sponsor the Indian Hockey Team (Men/Women, Senior/Junior) for a period of five years from 2018 to 2023. At the request of Mr. P. K. Jena and after due Government approval, OMC has extended the sponsorship till 31st January 2033.
