But Subrata Paul, the ‘Spiderman’ of Indian football revealed to Parallel Sports on the same day, “If things go in the right direction then I am going to make a comeback in the ongoing ISL.”
The 37-year-old former Indian international custodian had last donned Mohun Bagan shirts in 2021-22, joining the team on a loan from Hyderabad FC.
Paul divulged he has been training at his local club ground with full desire stating, “Age is just a number especially, i personally feel 37 years cannot be obstruction to any player if he has the desire to perform on the pitch."
Paul who has several brilliant memories under the bars wearing both national and club jerseys spanning more than two decades has also acquired a coaching license. Although he runs a coaching center at his local club, he might join Reliance Foundation as one of the coaches in the future.
He also has worked as a commentator and it is learned that Paul has started the business of sports goods also.
