Oscar reportedly compromises with his demand; set to join East Bengal shortly

It is learned that Bhawanipore Club may give a walkover to East Bengal in the upcoming match of the Super-six phase in the CFL.

Oscar Bruzon has reportedly backed away from his previous demand before joining East Bengal as the chief coach. It is learned that the Spanish coach had earlier placed one of the key conditions which says the club has to rope in Robson by replacing the team's Brazilian striker Cleiton. The club's top brass was not psychologically ready to replace Cleiton immediately. Rather they were reportedly planning to maintain a wait-and-watch policy on the striker.

However, it is learned that Oscar, who coached Bangladesh premier side Bashundhara Kings last season has agreed to compromise with his demand of replacing Cleiton by Robson Azevedo da Silva.

Bruzon’s joining East Bengal is likely to be announced by the club’s top brass within a couple of days.

However, East Bengal Club has filed a complaint with IFA against Mohammedan Sporting. According to new IFA rules, each participating team in the ongoing CFL Premier Division have to field four son-of-the-soil footballers in a match for 90 minutes. According to East Bengal's complaint, Mohammedan Sporting violated the rule in the match against the Red-and-Gold brigade.

The matter has been referred to IFA’s disciplinary committee which will host a meeting today on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it is learned that Bhawanipore Club may give a walkover to East Bengal in the upcoming match of the Super-six phase in the CFL.

It is also learned that the team’s many footballers who were in the first eleven have been released by the club as Bhawanipore had contracts with them till September. As the League has not ended in September the club has taken the decision not to field its team.
