He must have been the most frustrated individual among his teammates following his team’s miserable show in the ongoing ISL because he had to concede the goals, standing under the bars. He is Padam Chettri, the Mohammedan Sporting custodian. 

Before their crucial ISL encounter against East Bengal on Saturday the experienced goalkeeper feels they should talk between them during the matches to reduce misunderstanding. 

Mohammedan Sporting had to concede a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Hyderabad FC in their last ISL match and the misunderstanding between the defenders and Padam Chettri turned out to be one of the major factors behind the team’s poor show in the ongoing ISL. 

Padam tries to talk to his defenders, even the midfielders and forward when they go on attacks. But the footballers generally do not talk in between during the match which is needed. 

However, the goalkeeper also feels that following the two crucial wins AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal, East Bengal will be psychologically upbeat before the ‘mini derby’ scheduled on Saturday. 

But at the same time, Padam feels it is not going to be an easy match for East Bengal. The footballers seem to be charged mentally as they feel this match is a do-or-die for them to bounce back. 

Incidentally, it is believed that Padam who has participated in the team’s all six matches in the ongoing ISL so far, might be rested against East Bengal. Bhaskar Roy might get a chance on the day. 

Mohammedan Sporting will meet East Bengal in the country's top-tier competition after 10 years. They last met the Red-and-Gold briagde in the National League in 2013-14.
