Pakistan may avoid playing its 2023 ODI World Cup matches in India: Report

Pakistan has already claimed it will play its Asia Cup matches against India at a neutral venue.

The confusion is already there over where Indian cricket team and Pakistan cricket team might play in the Asia Cup. Amidst the confusion one of the country's most popular cricket websites has published a fresh development on the uncertainty on these two teams' participation in the ODI World Cup that is scheduled to be held in India in October-November.

According to the cricket website, Pakistan team might not play their scheduled matches on Indian soil. Rather they seem to prefer playing on Bangladesh soil.

Wasim Khan, former CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the current General Manager of Cricket for the International Cricket Council (ICC) in a recent interview with ARY News claimed that Pakistan might also play their World Cup matches at a neutral venue.

"I don't know if it would take place in a different country but a neutral venue is likely," said Wasim on a question regarding the likely neutral venue for India's Asia Cup fixtures.

"I don't think that Pakistan will play their matches in India. I think their matches will also be held at a neutral venue just like India's Asia Cup matches," Wasim added.
