Pakistan raised concern over their security in Ahmedabad, where they will play against the hosts, India.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to begin on 5th October in India. Pakistan will be sending a security delegation to inspect the venues around India for clearance to travel in India. PCB has earlier stated that they will require clearance from the government to travel for the upcoming World Cup event in India.

PCB will soon be electing a new chairman after Najam Sethi opted out of the race. According to a news report, official sources in the Inter-provincial Sports Ministry, the government including the foreign and interior ministry would decide on the dates to send a security delegation to India.

On the delegation’s proposed tour, an official source said to The Hindu, “The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup”. He also added, “Before any tour to India it is standard practice for the cricket board to seek permission from the government which normally sends a delegation to India. The delegation will interact with the officials and inspect with them the security and other arrangements for our players, officials, fans, and media”.
