Mhambrey highlighted the potential fast bowler well being and did not think sidelining would do any good for the bowler's career.
The former bowling coach Paras Mhambrey when asked about Mayank Yadav’s injury, states - "I don't agree that if he is not ready, just don't play him. This is the age where he has to bowl. A bowler should bowl. The more you bowl, the more you will have control, you will know your threshold as to how much your body can take. You can't wrap him up in cotton wool saying he will get injured,” in an interview with The Indian Express.
Jay Shah, BCCI secretary stated Yadav is at NCA in recovery and raised doubts about the 22-year-old fast bowler’s visibility in the upcoming test match in December. The NCA will look after his full recovery.
However, in contrast to his statement, the former India bowling coach put significant importance on first-class cricket for experience and mastering the physical limits for Yadav. And rooting for the gradual comeback of competitive cricket. Mhambrey highlighted the potential fast bowler well being and did not think sidelining would do any good for the bowler's career.
He played for IPL 2024 with his impressive pace and fierce bowling. He bowled with an exceeding speed of 150 kmph. Also delivered a bowl at 156.7 kmph which was the fourth-fastest ball in IPL. However, his season unexpectedly stopped after he faced a critical injury.
"We can't overbowl and burn him out, but we have to be smart about how much he should bowl. As a fast bowler, he needs to play first-class cricket," Mhambrey reminded with caution.
