Pep Guardiola touched by the fans’ love; offers to pay them for the banner on him!

Guardiola’s contract with Man City is set to expire at the end of the season.

The fans of Manchester City have built up a giant flag and also a banner, urging the manager Pep Guardiola not to leave the team!

Considering plans, the fans will unveil it during the team’s home-match against Fulham on Saturday.

The banner, which fans funded with 1,000 pounds (1,300 US dollars), will feature a written request for Guardiola to sign a new deal and continue his historic reign at the club.

Guardiola’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

The crafty coach became moved by the gesture. He was so touched by the support that he quickly insisted on footing the bill himself for the banner.

“They have to bring me the bill to pay for the banner,” he said during Friday’s pre-match press conference. “I don’t want them to spend money for that reason, but what can I say? Thank you so much,” replied Guardiola.

Since he arrived at Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has created a golden era at the club, winning numerous domestic titles and a 2022-23 Champions League trophy.

His influence on and off the pitch has been superlative. His relationship with the club’s fan-base seems stronger than ever.

“I fell in love from the first day I was here,” Guardiola continued, reflecting on his seven years at the Etihad.

The Spaniard has also expressed his unwavering love for the club. “I am part of this club. It is deep inside of my bones. I love this club and it will always be that way. It cannot be different from the way they treat me. Since day one, they gave me a lot."

Guardiola has not yet confirmed whether he will extend his contract with Manchester City.
