Ponting expects ‘real Prithvi Shaw’ to make a comeback.

DC head coach, ahead of SRH match on Sunday, said “ It is difficult for him to make a comeback. It is 13 games ( considering IPL 2022) since Prithvi has made 50 as a batter. There are other openers who are doing well in other IPL teams.”

Ricky Ponting was convinced that Prithvi Shaw may make a comeback after observing him at the pre-tournament net session. But in the ongoing IPL tournament, Shaw was dropped after six matches. DC head coach, ahead of SRH match on Sunday, said  “ It is difficult for him to make a comeback. It is 13 games ( considering IPL 2022) since Prithvi has made 50 as a batter. There are other openers who are doing well in other IPL teams.”   Prithvi has scored 47 runs in six games and it is very unlikely that he can make a comeback in the DC team.
Over the past 18 months Shaw had many ups-and –down losing is pace as a contender of India’s white-ball squad. He was also struggling with his fitness. He last represented India in 2021.
Shaw was recently in the headlines following an attack on him. The matter is being dealt with by Police.
Ponting, who is no stranger to trouble outside the field, said that there may be issues outside the field but he doesn’t like lazy players who do not utilize their talent.
