Praveen wins gold in Paralympics

Praveen Kumar became the latest Indian athlete to strike gold at the ongoing Paris Paralympics when he topped the men’s high jump T-64 final with an area record of 2.08m. 

With that, India’s medal count rose to 26, including six gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze, having already surpassed its best-ever haul. 

However, Gold medal-winning archer Harvinder Singh and sprinter Preeti Pal, who made history by becoming the first-ever Indian woman to win two medals at the Paralympics, will be the country’s flag bearers during the closing ceremony of the Paris Games on Sunday.
