Prithvi not repentant for his exclusion from Mumbai squad

MCA released a statement notifying the squad members. However, the statement had no explanation for Shaw’s omission from the team whatsoever.

Prithvi Shaw, the batter faced a major setback as he was dropped from the Mumbai Ranji Squad. The prominent opening batsman replied through this whole chaos with an Instagram story.

In the list of the Mumbai squad for Ranji, Shaw’s name was not included. Reportedly the Mumbai Captain Ajinkya Rahane was against his selection. Prithvi took to Instagram and wrote;

"Needed a break thanks", disclosed Shaw’s Instagram story.

The committee previously raised questions about his indiscipline. The complaint further asserted that the batsman was not attending practice sessions regularly. His laid-back attitude towards fitness was criticised by the board before, gradually prompting the authority to take tough action against him.

MCA released a statement notifying the squad members. However, the statement had no explanation for Shaw’s omission from the team whatsoever.

"The Senior Selection Committee of Mumbai Cricket Association consisting of Sanjay Patil (Chairman), Ravi Thaker, Jeetendra Thackeray, Kiran Powar, and Vikrant Yeligeti has selected the following players to represent Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy match against Tripura to be played from 26th to 29th October 2024 at MBB Stadium, Agartala," MCA stated.

While Shaw's attendance at net sessions has been irregular, seasoned players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, and Shardul Thakur have been diligently working to regain top form.
