Star India batter Virat Kohli turns a year older and former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh posted a heartfelt message for the player on Instagram.

Kohli, one of the best batters of all time, will be playing South Africa at the Eden Gardens on his 35th birthday. Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh won the ODI World Cup 2011 together. While Yuvraj Singh was the player of the tournament, Kohli also scored 282 runs from 9 games in the tournament.

Yuvraj said that he is proud to share such an incredible journey together. He wrote, “When you joined the team as a youngster who was eager for opportunities and hungry to perform, it was clear to everyone that you were destined for greatness. You've not only made a mark for yourself but have also inspired countless others to strive for excellence.”

On the occasion of Kohli's birthday, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly said that a small memento would be given to Virat Kohli during the game on his birthday. He further said that alongside that, a special cake has been prepared for the talented player and there will be fireworks after the match as well as light and sound shows. Speaking to ANI, the CAB president said that the demand for the tickets is very high.
