Punjab FC and NorthEast United end their match in a thrilling 1-1 draw

Parthib Gogoi and Melroy Asisi deliver splendid goals

Punjab FC and NorthEast United FC ended their match with a sensational 1-1 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Friday.

In the beginning of the first half of the game both teams tried various intense actions but failed to score. Mehdi Talal and Juan Mera took few shots but were unable to goal. In the 42nd minute, Tondomba got fouled inside the box and Northeast United earned a penalty, however Punjab's keeper Ravi, spectacularly saved Romain Phillipoteaux's delivery.

In the added minutes before half time, Parthib Gogoi, the wonder boy of NEUFC, brought his team ahead with a stunning right footed strike after dribbling past two Punjab defenders.

In the 63rd minutes of the game, Melroy Assisi found the back of the net with an equaliser for the Punjab FC from a stunning corner delivery from Juan Mera. However, due to the strong defense deployed by the opponent, Punjab FC failed to take all three points in their first home match of their debut Indian Super League season.
