R. Ashwin, Jadeja guide India to whipping innings-victory over Australia at Nagpur
The Indian team snatched a stunning victory in the first Test of the Border-Gaoskar Trophy at Nagpur on Saturday. India won by an inning and 132 runs. India stormed to victory inside three days after high-quality performances from skipper Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja (5/47, 2/34 and 70), Axar Patel (84, 1/06), and R Ashwin who picked his 31st 5-wicket haul in Test cricket.
India, who defeated Australia in their home in the three-Test series now has a 1-0 lead in the current edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Australia was blown away inside a session on Saturday as they were bundled out for 91 in 32.3 overs. The visitors' confidence would have taken a huge blow after the crushing defeat in Nagpur. Ashwin again wrecked Aussie in the second innings also, claiming five wickets and giving away only 47 runs. Rabindra Jadeja who took two wickets in the second innings was adjudged man of the match.
