R Ashwin had a heartfelt meeting with D. Gukesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ashwin, who has returned to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after a nine-year absence since 2015, was thrilled to meet Gukesh, the youngest world chess champion.
Ashwin greeted Gukesh with a handshake and presented him with a CSK jersey bearing 'Gukesh' on the back. The two then played a game of chess, after which Ashwin signed the chessboard. The 18-year-old Gukesh was ecstatic after the interaction with the legendary Indian off-spinner.
