Radhika dreams of contributing to the development of sport in Bengal

Radhika is also an author, a poet, an actor, and a ghazal singer.

Radhika Bhattacharyya Shah is a multi-talented lady. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2017 and within only six years, Radhika's political career has earned a feather. She has been chosen as the spokesperson of BJP in West Bengal.

Radhika is also an author, a poet, an actor, and a ghazal singer. Before starting her present innings in Indian politics, Radhika had a shining career where she worked in the International Airline Industry and the United Nations and she was associated with the corporate world as a senior consultant in the training and development of senior executives and business owners of large companies and groups in India.

Simultaneously, Radhika is a co-founder of READ Trust. Through the organization, Radhika has been helping rural women and girl children get empowered with life and career skills. She has been passionate about developing rural women, girls, and children, especially a constant effort to save the lives of accident victims, develop the youth, and also save the environment through projects and initiatives for a healthy environment with clean water being her top priority.

But all apart, who knows about Radhika's passion for sports? Who knows that sports blood is also flowing in her body?

Radhika is the daughter of Brigadier Charu Bhattacharya who fought for the country in three wars and was recommended for the Param Vir Chakra, played football seriously also.

Radhika revealed, "His football skill was so precise that he was selected for the Mohun Bagan team only at the age of 14 years. Then after joining the Indian army, he became 'football Blue'. So my passion for football and sports was natural.”

Radhika herself had played various games like Squash, Table Tennis, and basketball.

Radhika's son Ryan Shah was a football prodigy he was first a footballer, then a coach, and also a director of a football club.

So, Radhika despite her political business seems nurturing to develop sports as a whole in this state.

When asked Radhika explained, “You must have noticed our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's encouragement for the sports. We all watch his keenness to meet and motivate the sportspersons whenever they return to the country from abroad with medals. His encouragement in enthusiasm for sports are reflected through the new schemes on sports like the Khelo India Games in different sports disciplines across the country. But talking about Bengal I can say the development of sports as a whole cannot be seen unless BJP becomes a ruling party in Bengal."

If Radhika gets the opportunity to contribute to sports development in Bengal during the BJP regime, she will be happy to come forward spontaneously.
