Rahul waits for the transformation in the Archery Federation body

The IOA now consists of several former Indian international sports personalities including the post of president which is being graced by PT Usha.

Both the Olympian archers from Kolkata Rahul Banerjee and his sister Dola Banerjee wait for the transition in the administration of the national archery federation also as it has already happened in Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The IOA now consists of several former Indian international sports personalities including the post of president which is being graced by PT Usha.

Dola Banerjee who has already been included in the IOA as one of the executive committee members also welcomed the changeover in the country's different sports administrative bodies and commenting on the archery federation, said, "I feel it will take some time. The changeover has just started with IOA and a few other ruling bodies like football, and table tennis. I am optimistic that within a few more years Archery Federation will also have former Indian international archers in the administration who can guide the administrators to develop and nurture the game properly."

Rahul Banerjee while speaking on the issue had also the same opinion as he stated, "So far I know, Archery Federation will have the coming election in 2024. I feel the federation will also have some former Indian international archers whose advice will help the federation to move in the right direction. Actually, the blend of sports personalities and administrators should be perfect. Otherwise, no proper development can be witnessed."

Whether he is interested to join the administration the Arjuna awardee archer asserted, "If I am included in any development committee or coaches committee of the Archery Federation following an election in 2024, then I can be interested. Otherwise, I do not want to sit on the chair of an only administrator. My aim is to nurture and produce international archers through a coaching program."

Commenting on Indian archery at the senior level Rahul said, "Indian archery is going through a transition, especially in the Indian women's team. This is a very important year as the World Championship, to be held in Berlin at the end of July this year, will be the qualification tournament for the Paris Olympics in 2024. They will get an opportunity to prepare for the two World Cups this year before that. But I am optimistic that despite two new faces in the team, Aditi Jaiswal and Bhajan Kour who will play their first World Cup they will be able to earn qualification for the Paris Olympics." Rahul stressed the point that archery across the country has developed a lot as a lot of academies have come up, producing a lot of promising archers throughout the country.
