Rinku Singh has placed his name in the history of IPL, hitting five consecutive sixes in the concluding over to steer Kolkata Knight Rides (KKR) to a convincing victory against Gujarat Titans.
It is known that Rinku is not from a wealthy family. His father Khanchandra Singh started his life working with an LPG distribution company and still continuing with his job where he has to carry gas cylinders from one home to another to make ends meet.
While speaking to one of the popular television channels recently, Rinku stated, "Now I am doing everything for my family. The hard times are now over. I told my father to leave his job. He has been working for 30 years. When I asked him to quit, he insisted on continuing."
Rinku added, "I and my brothers used to go from door to door to deliver gas cylinders with our father. My father did not want me to play cricket initially. Rather he wanted me to work with him and contribute money. I got support from mother."
Rinku's father still lives in Aligarh and does door-to-door delivery of cylinders. He was surrounded by cricket fans on Monday wherever he went to deliver gas cylinders. Everyone demanded to feed them, sweets. Everybody noticed tears in Khanchadra Singh's eyes out of joy. Even many advised Khanchandra to leave the job now that he has been doing it for more than 30 years. But Rinku's father looked unmoved and he replied on the issue saying, that he cannot leave this work. He raised his family through this job.
Simultaneously, Rinku's father did not forget to mention saying, "My son has taken the entire responsibility of the family on his shoulder with his hard work. So I no longer feel the weight of the cylinder. Now our only dream is to see Rinku represent the country in near future."
