Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden qualified for the finals of the Madrid Open defeating Gonzalez and Edouard pair in the semi-finals.
Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden have qualified for the men’s doubles finals at the Madrid Open. They defeated eighth-seeded Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin pair, after being a set down, 5-7, 7-6(3), 10-4. This is their second ATP Masters 1000 finals this season.
The seventh-seeded Indo-Australian pair won four of the seven return points. They will face the unseeded Russian pair Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in the finals. The Russian pair defeated the reigning French Open champion pair Marcelo Arevola and Jean-Julien Rojer 6-4, 6-4 in the other semi-finals.
Earlier Rohan created history when he and Ebden won the BNP Paribas Open becoming the oldest ATP Masters 1000 champion. The duo also won the Qatar Open in February and is aiming to win their third title.
