Ronaldo takes a slight dig at Pele on goal-count, aims for an incredible '1000' mark

Cristiano Ronaldo, completing 893 career goals, is already the all-time record goal scorer.

Cristiano Ronaldo, completing 893 career goals, is already the all-time record goal scorer. But he does not want to stop here! Even at 39, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker revealed his main ambition is to reach 1,000 career goals!

Speaking on his YouTube channel with former England international Rio Ferdinand, Ronaldo said, "I want to reach 1,000 goals."

Significantly, Ronaldo was also seen sarcastic while talking about the last century's famous goal scorers like Pele, stating that he would at least have video proof of his goals, unlike many of the sport's legends.

For example, Pele is considered to be the highest goal scorer in history with FIFA crediting him with 1281 goals, but now it is known that hundreds of those took place in friendly games.

"For me, it's the best mark that I can have in football, to reach, the first 900 goals. After, my challenge is 1,000 goals," he said.
