Roy Chowdhury makes a tie-up with Leeds Beckett University to introduce the same equipment-based training facility in his Sports University for the students

The Sports University is likely to start its journey in 2025.

In a rare initiative, Satyam Roy Chowdhury, the managing director of Techno India Group as well as the chancellor of Sister Nivedita University (SNU) is going to introduce state-of-the-art equipment-based training facilities for the students of his Sports University which is likely to start its journey in 2025. The Sports University which will be the first of its kind in Bengal will have ultra-modern equipment-based training facilities.

Roy Chowdhury when asked about plans told Parallel Sports on Monday, "I observed the training programs and facilities at Leeds Beckett University which has already produced several sports personalities like Kelly Hodgkinson (Olympic silver medalist in 800 meters), Emily Campbell (silver medalist in Olympics) and Triathlon player Alex Yee (Olympics gold medalist). I want to introduce a similar system in my Sports University to produce international medal-winners."

When asked about the equipment-based training, Roy Chowdhury explained, "I watched the training of the athletics students. When they are practicing running equipment comprising cameras is attached to their bodies. The students themselves are being able to make an overall assessment of their entire physical abilities, deficiency, the requirements to overcome deficiencies, and even their psychological part. They are being able to see the report of their concentration level while running, even they can see the reports if they lacked determination while running. I have the desire to introduce the same equipment-based training facilities to my students at the Sports University. The experts from Leeds Beckett University are expected to visit our University and guide our professors, and coaches in the right direction."

Even, Roy Chowdhury has plans to make an association officially with a few European Clubs in near future. He added, "Following advice and assessment of our students made by Leeds Beckett University's professors I will send the selected students to those clubs for advanced training. It can happen in the disciplines like football, athletics cricket, etc."

However, Roychowdhury is also keen to come forward with financial assistance for the nourishment of young footballers at East Bengal's football school.
