Ruhul Kuddus Purkait is grateful to the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, not only for providing jobs for Santosh Trophy-winning Bengal footballers but for the CM's words at the felicitation program.
Ruhul revealed saying, "All of us have been given employment in different departments of the state and Calcutta Police. But CM categorically announced that the footballers must not be given any mandate to represent their respective office teams. Rather she announced that we would not be given any pressure to play for our respective office departments so that we could concentrate on the game and fulfill our goals of playing at the highest level of Indian football. Like other footballers, I am also grateful to her."
Ruhul’s father Rafique Purkait has been suffering from chronic illness for a long time and nowadays, according to his son that is why, Rafique cannot strain that much to maintain cultivation work.
The defender of United Sports Club, who hails from Dhap Dhapi village in South 24 Parganas, around 30 kilometers from Baruipur railway station, often helps his father in cultivation work whenever he comes home from Kalyani.

Ruhul admitted, “I badly needed the job. It has come as a great inspiration for me to look forward.”

The defender who took part against Services and Punjab added, “I am happy for another reason that our coach Sanjoy sir was satisfied with my performance although I took part in only two matches.”
Now, the 25-year-old defender is eyeing a qualification for the elite I-League by taking United SC to the top of the table in the forthcoming Second Division I-League. United SC will start their campaign on 26th January.
"I believe it will be the best 'New Year's gift on our part to the club Director Nabab Bhattacharya. We should do our best to pay Nabab sir something back. He has been making an immense contribution to our everyday growth, stated Ruhul.

Simultaneously, he confessed explaining, "If we can exhibit at least half of our technique, skill, and determination which our chief coach Steve Herbots transpires continuously, no one will be able to stop us from qualifying for the elite I-league."
